On the cause of the fire, the Orange County Fire Authority Incident Captain Paul Holaday announced on Tuesday at a news conference that it was “accidental, unintentional, by heavy equipment working in the areas of the RC Airport.”

According to ABC10, the massive fire began on Monday around 1:20 p.m. near Rose Canyon Road and Trabuco Canyon Road.

Commander Kevin Fetterman disclosed that the fire has been difficult to tame due to the terrain, dry conditions, and the fact that some areas have not burned in years.

California is no stranger to wildfires; in fact, it is currently heading toward its peak wildfire season. However, it has reportedly already seen nearly three times as much acreage burn than all of 2023 combined.

Gunvalson’s Health Emergency Required A Second Trip To The Hospital

Smith continued that Gunvalson slept for over 13 hours, and he had no choice but to take her back to the hospital.

It was then discovered that she was previously misdiagnosed and she had a massive infection. Smith added, “It was actually sepsis, but it was pneumonia.”

He stated that the doctors explained it as “when your body is fighting that big of an infection… your whole body attacks it what affects the brain and everything else in your body because your body sends everything it has to fight it.” He described it as “dangerous” and “scary.”

Gunvalson admitted that she does not remember much and likened her case to “stroke or PTSD where the brain just goes into quiet mode, it just won’t remember to protect you.”

The ‘RHOC’ Star Is Yet To Come To Terms With The Scary Episode

The impact of the health scare and the risk associated with it after her neurologist explained the severity to her has left Gunvalson super emotional since her recovery.

Vicki Gunvalson Defending Herself Against Fraud Allegations

Gunvalson is also trying to clear her name in a fraud lawsuit filed by a former client named Diane Field. Field accused Gunvalson and her business associate of fraud and elderly abuse after she consulted the reality star’s investment firm for financial advice.

Gunvalson issued a statement through her lawyers detailing that she has remained a well-respected insurance broker over the last three decades and has helped over 7,000 clients achieve their financial goals.

Her lawyers explained that the 62-year-old only obeyed Field’s directions about “the annuities and the life insurance policy.” They insisted that the mom-of-two did not engage in any conduct that could be considered financial elder abuse, breach of fiduciary duty, or fraud.
