Katy Perry In Stringy Braless Top Criticized For ‘Almost Wearing Clothes’

Katy Perry didn’t receive the best feedback for her barely-there look as she attended the 2024 MTV VMAs last night. The singer, 39, turned heads with a display of her recent weight loss, choosing a shredded skirt and tiny crop top look that quickly got fans talking. Posing for red carpet snaps while highlighting her minuscule waist and impossibly defined hips, Katy made a case for the 2000s crop top trend, but users online seemed tired of her flesh-flashing. When The Daily Mail shared Katy’s look for the night, the most-liked comment sarcastically took a swipe, saying that she was “almost wearing clothes.”

Going one-shouldered as she highlighted some underboob, the “Woman’s World” hitmaker wowed highlighting her cleavage and oiled-up torso, wearing her matching skirt low-slung.

Embracing the ripped trend, Katy also turned heads for displaying a QR code tattoo on her lower back, one assumed to scan right to her upcoming 143 album.

Sporting her dark locks down and waving, Katy added pop to her blue eyes from a heavy sweeping of silvery-white eyeshadow, also wearing matte makeup complete with blush and bronzer. Last night’s VMAs proved star-studded and were also attended by fellow music stars Taylor Swift,  Sabrina Carpenter, DJ Khaled, and Halsey. Katy posed solo for some photos, with others showing her with her fiance Orlando Bloom.

Fans didn’t seem too impressed. “Katy Perry’s desperation is showing if she’s resorting to almost wearing clothes out in public” was a comment gaining over 900 upvotes. “Katy Perry needs to fire her stylists,” another fan said.

While another user inferred that Katy looked “homeless,” a third gained likes for bringing up Katy’s weight.

“Results of some Ozempic-like drug. Perry has never been this thin. MIDLIFE CRISIS,” they said. The mom of one has spent much of 2024 sparking rumors that she used the weight loss drug Ozempic to slim down, although Katy herself has never confirmed taking it. “That’s Ozempic face, I didn’t know. She looked very creepy to me. Maybe that was the point,” a further fan stated.

Alongside performing at the VMAs, Katy snagged herself the MTV VMAs: the Video Vanguard Award. Katy Perry is majorly embracing her stringy clothing era, as seen in the above photo, shared to her Instagram.

Rocking a silver-studded bikini top in orange while partying in Ibiza, Spain, the singer added a low-slung skirt in red, plus a plunging tank top with hanging suspenders at the waist.
