Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck Spotted With Famous Divorce Lawyer Despite PDA-Filled Brunch

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have confirmed the rumors that they are mediating their divorce after being spotted with Laura Wasser.

Wasser is a renowned divorce lawyer who has worked with high-profile clients such as Kim Kardashian, Kevin Costner, Johnny Depp, Britney Spears, and Ariana Grande.

Amid their ongoing divorce, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been spotted hanging out with their kids, including recently appearing at a back-to-school gathering.

TMZ reported that Lopez and Affleck appeared at the WeHo building on Monday morning, where they both have separate offices.

However, what would have been deemed a normal day at work for the divorcing duo took on a new meaning as they showed up with famed divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.

Wasser is thought to be assisting the Hollywood stars in mediating their ongoing divorce, suggesting that the trio’s appearance at the location was likely for a scheduled meeting to discuss essential agreements.

As a neutral third party, she will ensure that Lopez and Affleck properly navigate the murky waters of not having a prenup when they walked down the aisle two years ago.

While it’s uncertain when the divorce will be finalized, opting for mediation is expected to be quicker and less contentious for Lopez and Affleck than the traditional divorce process.

Lopez and Affleck did not welcome any children during their short marriage, which implies that there will be no discussions about child custody.

However, it is anticipated that there will be extensive negotiations over the division of their substantial assets, which include multiple properties and business ventures they embarked on during their time as a couple.

Among the top points would be whether Lopez is entitled to earnings from any future projects produced by Artists Equity, a production company Affleck co-founded with Matt Damon.

The couple will also need to come to an agreement on whether the proceeds from the sale of their $68 million Beverly Hills home will be split equally or if a different ratio will be used based on their individual contributions to the purchase and maintenance of the property.

Additionally, earnings from Lopez’s low-calorie alcohol brand, Delola, which she launched in 2023, may also be discussed during the divorce proceedings.

“Ben and JLo are currently at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, holding hands and kissing. The kids are with them, but at a separate table,” a source reported about the outing, which was a brunch date with the kids, per Page Six.

According to the insider, the shocking display of affection was reportedly “not planned.” They also claimed that the duo’s action was tied to the fact that they “always had a lot of sexual chemistry” and are “still attracted to one another.”

Lopez donned a long-sleeved black crop top for the outing, paired with flared dark-wash jeans that hid her shoes. Meanwhile, Affleck opted for a blue button-down shirt, jeans, and Nike sneakers. The duo also complemented their looks with expensive sunglasses.

A source recently clarified to People Magazine why the estranged couple had brunch together,

They noted that the family “came together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out” and that “[Jennifer’s] trying to be friendly with Ben.”

The source added that “they are still moving forward with the divorce, though. They are working out financial details amicably.”

“A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn’t want to be selfish about it,” the source continued. “The kids always got along and have fun together. It makes her happy seeing the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority.”
