Rodrigo has spent much of the year on the road, performing in over 90 shows since February in support of her latest album, “GUTS.” The whirlwind tour, which concluded in October, solidified her status as one of pop music’s most electrifying new talents, but not without its share of surprises.

“I got in trouble with the law for the first time in my life,” she told Jimmy Fallon.

Initially, Olivia thought maybe one of the officer’s daughters was a huge fan, and they were going to ask for an autograph or a photo. “I’m like, ‘I just played a few shows; maybe, like, their daughter wants an autograph.’ And I come out [at] 3 a.m. I’m delirious, and they take me to a room—and it’s an interrogation room, and there’s like, a big cop [with] a gun,” she told Fallon.

“He’s like, ‘Have you ever been arrested?’ I’m, like, ‘No, I haven’t been arrested,'” the star said of their conversation. “He’s like, ‘Are you sure?’ I’m like gaslighting [myself]. I’m, like, Oh, my God, maybe I was, like, arrested and I didn’t know it,” she continued. “He said, ‘You know, you could go to jail for lying to a federal officer like this. Like, this is really bad.'”

“Jimmy, I was pissed,” the singer said. “I’m like, ‘You didn’t look at the name on the thing?'”

During her whirlwind GUTS World Tour, Olivia Rodrigo has not only captivated audiences with her music but also stirred conversation with her advocacy and unexpected on-stage mishaps.

Earlier this year, she made headlines at a St. Louis concert by offering fans an unconventional parting gift: condoms and Plan B, distributed in partnership with the Missouri Abortion Fund. The initiative aimed to promote reproductive health, with the former Disney Channel actress using her platform to spotlight access to contraception and support for reproductive rights.

Rodrigo’s tour also took a literal plunge when she suffered a surprising mishap on stage in Melbourne, Australia. Mid-performance and mid-sprint, Rodrigo unexpectedly fell through a trap door, typically used for special effects, while engaging with fans across the packed arena.

Rodrigo quickly recovered and finished the performance, though she went to the hospital after the show as a precaution.
