“Rust<\/span>” director Joel Souza<\/strong><\/span> is setting the record straight on his relationship with Alec Baldwin<\/strong><\/span>, who was the star of his Western film.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n On October 21, 2021, a gun that the “30 Rock” actor was holding on set went off, striking and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins<\/strong><\/span>. Souza, who was standing directly behind Hutchins, was also shot and hospitalized as a result of the incident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Still, he was able to go on to finish filming “Rust” in the spring of 2023 after moving operations from New Mexico to Montana.
